UPDATE ON THE LIBERDADI SHIP ACCIDENT
UPDATE ON THE LIBERDADI SHIP ACCIDENT
During the berthing maneuver at the Port of Praia, the ship once again experienced a generator failure, which compromised control and maneuverability, resulting in the ship crashing into the rocks by the pier.
There have been no incidents involving the safety of passengers or crew. The safety of those on board was never at risk. With the support of the Fire Brigade and ENAPOR, it was possible to disembark all the passengers safely and without any incident. Everyone is fine.
The level of professionalism and technical expertise of our crew was decisive in avoiding more serious consequences. The team's quick action made it possible to control the situation effectively, minimize the impact and ensure the integrity of everyone on board.
ENAPOR was always in contact with CV Interilhas and immediately installed a preventive containment barrier to avoid any possible oil or fuel spillage into the sea.
The ship is stable and under assessment by a technical team, which is analyzing its structural integrity.
